PONY Asia Pacific Zone & PONY China Signed a Partnership Agreement with China Panda Sport

On December 24, 2019, Mr. Feng Xiao-long, chairman of China Panda Sport, Mr. Takeharu Nasu, Zone Director of PONY Asia Pacific Zone, and Mr. Walker Xia Yi, Director of PONY China, signed a strategic cooperation agreement to jointly promote youth baseball and softball events to a new level.

This is a comprehensive cooperation upgrade with China local strategic partners after PONY Asia Pacific Zone and PONY China signed the 2020 Memorandum of strategic cooperation with Chinese Baseball Association.
The three parties will focus on the event organization, brand promotion, players, umpire and coach clinic to carry out in-depth cooperation. Under support of relevant departments, PONY Asia Pacific Zone and PONY Japan will cooperate with PONY China to assist the China Zhongshan baseball company in event hosting, team selection, activity organization, brand building and other all-round promotion.

Under the new cooperation agreement, PONY China and Panda Sport will jointly build the China PONY Greater Bay League, and to promote the Guangdong-Hongkong-Macao greater bay area youth baseball and softball events. This Greater Bay area is regarded as one of the most economically and culturally dynamic areas in China. The winners of each division of the Greater Bay League will have the opportunity to advance directly to the Asia-Pacific Zone Tournament. Zhongshan is the hometown of Leung Fuchu, the "Father of Chinese baseball". The Panda Baseball team, founded by Mr. Leung in the 1940s, became famous in southeast Asia, beating teams from the United States, Japan and the Philippines. The restored Panda baseball team, which is dominated by teenagers, won the PONY China National Tournament (Bronco Division) in 2018 and the PONY China National Tournament (PONY Division) in 2019. The new Panda baseball team has the opportunity to recreate the historic glory of the China

Panda baseball team in the 1940s, and to make further contributions to the global development of baseball and the cooperation between world and China.
Panda Sport will also work with the 79-year-history PONY League to further increase the international profile of the Panda Sport brand. Over the next two years, the official ball of the China PONY, Japan PONY and the PONY Asia Pacific Zone Tournament will carry the Panda Sport logo.

Panda Sport has a background in property development and is based in Zhongshan, Guangdong province, in southern China. In 2018, the Panda Sport Memorial Stadium was completed with an investment of more than 100 million RMB, making it one of the most famous baseball field in China. This field will host more China PONY games and PONY APZ tournaments in the future.
