Kyle Stowers, an outfielder for the Baltimore Orioles, made his major league debut Monday night against the Toronto Blue Jays.
Originally from El Cajon, CA, the PONY alum was one for three at the plate and had an RBI double in his first at-bat.
Stowers was drafted by the Orioles out of Stanford as a junior in the 2019 Competitive Balance Draft. Due to the timing of the draft in relation to the NCAA tournament, he actually found out he was drafted during his last home game.
Since being drafted 71st overall, Stowers spent time playing for the Aberdeen IronBirds, the Bowie BirdSox and the Norfolk Tides. This past offseason, he played in the Arizona Fall League for the Mesa Solar Sox.
In his 228 games in the minor leagues, he scored 122 runs with 45 home runs. On defense, he had a total of 360 put-outs.
Stowers is expected to play through the remaining three games in Toronto this week.
