Day 3 of the 2025 Colt World Series
Day 3 Game 9: Fukuoka, Japan (5) vs Bay County, MI (2)
Bay County, Michigan fell to Fukuoka, Japan 5-2 on Sunday.
A single by KAKUMOTO KOSHI put Fukuoka, Japan on the board in the bottom of the second.
A triple by FUKUCHI EISHUN extended the Fukuoka, Japan lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.
HABUKI KVOSUKE stepped on the bump first for Fukuoka, Japan. The starter allowed zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking one.
JOSE COSTILLA went 2-for-3 at the plate and led the team with two runs batted in.
FUKUCHI EISHUN drove the middle of the lineup, leading Fukuoka, Japan with three runs batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-3 on the day. SASAKI HARUTO, KOMIVA MUSASHI, FUKUCHI EISHUN, KAKUMOTO KOSHI, and INABA JINVA each collected one hit for Fukuoka, Japan. MORI KOHAKU and KATSUTA RVOSEI each stole multiple bases for Fukuoka, Japan. Fukuoka, Japan stole seven bases in the game. Fukuoka, Japan turned one double play in the game.

Game 10: Marion, IL (5) vs Monterrey, Mexico (1)
Monterrey, Mexico lost to Marion, Illinois 5-1 on Sunday.
Marion, Illinois got on the board in the bottom of the first inning after DAX RANDOPLH scored after tagging up, GABE HOUSER grounded into a fielder's choice, and Monterrey, Mexico committed an error, each scoring one run.
ROBERTO EILZONDO stepped on the mound first for Monterrey, Mexico. The starter gave up seven hits and four runs (three earned) over four innings, striking out one and walking one. MADDUX SMOTHERS led things off on the hill for Marion, Illinois. The starting pitcher gave up one hit and one run over seven innings, striking out three and walking three.
LUIS GUAJARDO led the team with one run batted in. FERNANDO QUIROGA went 1-for-3 at the plate to lead Monterrey, Mexico in hits.
DAX RANDOPLH and AIDAN HANKINS each collected two hits for Marion, Illinois. HAIDEN LANGE, DAX RANDOPLH, RYLAN PALMER, and GABE HOUSER each drove in one run for Marion, Illinois. Marion, Illinois turned one double play in the game. Marion, Illinois didn't commit a single error in the field. HAIDEN LANGE had the most chances in the field with 10.
Marion, IL will play their next game (Game 14) tomorrow at 11:00am against Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Monterrey, Mexico has been eliminated from the tournament with an 0-2 record.
Game 11: Youngstown, OH (6) vs Paderborn Germany (1)
Youngstown, Ohio were victorious against Paderborn Germany 6-1 on Sunday.
Paderborn Germany were the first to get on the board in the first when LUKAS KOTTIG singled, scoring one run.
ISAAC MCCANDLESS walked, which helped Youngstown, Ohio tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.
Youngstown, Ohio jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the third inning after Paderborn Germany committed an error, XAVIER KLAMER singled to center field, and BLAKE BURCHILL doubled, each scoring one run.
BREKKEN HEDDERICK earned the win for Youngstown, Ohio. The starting pitcher gave up three hits and one run over five and one-third innings, striking out six and walking three. PEPE STOCKHAUS took the loss for Paderborn Germany. The starter went four innings, surrendering six runs (three earned) on four hits, striking out four and walking five. BLAKE BURCHILL tossed one inning of scoreless ball for Youngstown, Ohio in relief. The hurler allowed zero hits, striking out none and walking none.
JARED BISSELL went 2-for-2 at the plate to lead Youngstown, Ohio in hits. BLAKE BURCHILL, XAVIER KLAMER, ISAAC MCCANDLESS, LOGAN PERKS, and CARTER REICHARD each drove in one run for Youngstown, Ohio. Youngstown, Ohio had patience at the plate, amassing six walks for the game. ISAAC MCCANDLESS and CHASE MITCHELTREE led the team with two walks each.
LUKAS KOTTIG led Paderborn Germany with one run batted in. The cleanup hitter went 1-for-2 on the day. EMILIO GOTZ, LUKAS KOTTIG, JULES MOSER, and FELIX SCHWAB each collected one hit for Paderborn Germany. Paderborn Germany turned one double play in the game.
Youngstown, OH will play their next game (Game tomorrow at 2:00pm against the Loser of Game 14. Paderborn, Germany has been eliminated from the tournament with a record of 0-2.
Game 12: Guaynabo, Puerto Rico (6) vs Covina, CA (11)
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico lost to Covina, CA 11-6 on Sunday.
A single by Natanael Andino following a 6-pitch at-bat put Guaynabo, Puerto Rico on the board in the top of the first.
Covina, CA tied the game in the bottom of the first thanks to a walk by JAYDEN CHAGOLLAN, and a hit by a pitch.
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico took the lead in the top of the second. Derek Santiago doubled, scoring one run, to give Guaynabo, Puerto Rico the upper hand, 3-2.
Covina, CA flipped the game on its head in the bottom of the third, scoring five runs on three hits to take the lead, 7-3. The biggest blow in the inning was a single by JAIME GALLARDO that drove in two.
Adrian Lopez opened the game for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The hurler surrendered two hits and six runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking four. DIEGO GARZA opened the game for Covina, CA. The starting pitcher surrendered three hits and three runs over two innings, striking out one and walking one.
Natanael Andino drove the middle of the lineup, leading Guaynabo, Puerto Rico with two runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Natanael Andino, Derek Santiago, Abdamil Robles, Sebastian Quiles, Hector Green, Dariel Carrion, and Miguel Colon each collected one hit for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico.
JAIME GALLARDO led Covina, CA with five runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The catcher went 2-for-3 on the day. ISAAC RAUL went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Covina, CA in hits. Covina, CA turned one double play in the game.
Guaynabo, Puerto Rico will play their next game (Game 14) tomorrow at 11:00am against Marion, IL.
Covina, CA will play their next game (Game 16) tomorrow at 5:00pm against the Winner of Game 14.
Game 13: Southern Illinois (4) vs Palmview, Texas (8)
Southern Illinois lost to Palmview, Texas 8-4 on Sunday.
Southern Illinois got on the board in the top of the first inning after Palmview, Texas committed an error, and JACE HAMPTON walked, each scoring one run.
GAEL ZAMBRANO singled down the left field line, which helped Palmview, Texas tie the game at two in the bottom of the first.
A single by WILL CAPIE gave Southern Illinois the lead, 3-2, in the top of the second.
Southern Illinois committed an error, which helped Palmview, Texas tie the game at three in the bottom of the second.
Palmview, Texas took the lead in the bottom of the third. ALEX BOCANEGRA grounded out, scoring one run, to give Palmview, Texas the leg up, 4-3.
GIANNI CHEATHAM singled down the left field line on an 0-2 count, which helped Southern Illinois tie the game at four in the top of the fourth.
Palmview, Texas took the lead, 7-4, in the bottom of the fourth thanks to singles by JAVIER GARZA LOPEZ, and MATTHEW AZUARA.
OWEN KUEKER led things off on the mound for Southern Illinois. The pitcher gave up seven hits and four runs (three earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. GAEL ZAMBRANO started on the mound for Palmview, Texas. The hurler gave up seven hits and four runs (three earned) over five and one-third innings, striking out four and walking five.
GIANNI CHEATHAM led Southern Illinois with three hits in three at bats. WILL CAPIE collected two hits for Southern Illinois in two at bats. WILL CAPIE led Southern Illinois with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, amassing eight walks for the game.
Palmview, Texas piled up 13 hits in the game. GAEL ZAMBRANO, RAMIRO ALEJANDRO LEON, and MATTHEW AZUARA each collected three hits for Palmview, Texas. GAEL ZAMBRANO and JAVIER GARZA LOPEZ were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Palmview, Texas. AXEL PULIDO collected two hits for Palmview, Texas in four at bats. Palmview, Texas had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. EDGAR QUINTANILLA JR and SAMUEL DE LEON led the team with two free passes each. Palmview, Texas turned one double play in the game.
Southern Illinois will play their next game (Game 15) tomorrow at 2:00pm against Youngstown, OH. Palmview, Texas will play their next game (Game 17) tomorrow at 8:00pm against the Winner of Game 15.
