Day 4 of the 2025 Colt World Series

Day 4 Game 14: Marion, IL (5) vs Guaynabo, Puerto Rico (9)
Marion, Illinois fell to Guaynabo, Puerto Rico 9-5 on Monday.

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico jumped out to the lead in the bottom of the first inning after Sebastian Quiles doubled, scoring two runs, and Natanael Andino singled, scoring one run.

A single by Natanael Andino extended the Guaynabo, Puerto Rico lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the third inning.

FISHER WATTS pitched three and two-thirds innings in relief for Marion, Illinois. The hurler surrendered four hits and five runs (four earned) while striking out five and walking two. DAX RANDOPLH led things off on the bump for Marion, Illinois. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and four runs over two and one-third innings, striking out one and walking four. Southern Illinois lost to Youngstown, Ohio 5-0 on Monday.

Youngstown, Ohio opened the scoring in the top of the third thanks to two errors. Youngstown, Ohio first got on the board when an error scored one run.

COEN FERTIG earned the win for Youngstown, Ohio. The starter surrendered five hits and zero runs over six innings, striking out five and walking none. CARTER VERDEYEN took the loss for Southern Illinois. The starter went five and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs (one earned) on seven hits, striking out five and walking none.

GIANNI CHEATHAM led Southern Illinois with two hits in three at bats.

Youngstown, Ohio tallied 10 hits in the game. JACKSON LESKOVAC provided pop in the middle of the lineup, and led Youngstown, Ohio with three runs batted in. The infielder went 1-for-4 on the day. Guaynabo, Puerto Rico scored 10 runs in the sixth inning, which helped them defeat Covina, CA 11-3 on Monday. Miguel Colon tripled, scoring three runs, Jedrek Cortijo drew a walk, scoring one run, an error scored one run, Dariel Carrion doubled, scoring two runs, ROBERT GRANADOS induced Abdamil Robles to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, and Baudy Rivera singled, scoring two runs.

A double by ADAM GUEVARA put Covina, CA on the board in the top of the fourth.

Baudy Rivera singled down the left field line, which helped Guaynabo, Puerto Rico tie the game at one in the bottom of the fourth.

Covina, CA took the lead in the top of the fifth. AYDAN SCHMIDT hit a solo home run to left field, to give Covina, CA the leg up, 2-1.

Tai Maldonado earned the win for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The pitcher surrendered five hits and three runs over seven innings, striking out three and walking one. NATHAN ARELLANO took the loss for Covina, CA. The hurler went five innings, surrendering two runs on four hits, striking out four and walking five.

Miguel Colon led Guaynabo, Puerto Rico with three runs batted in from the number eight spot in the lineup. The outfielder went 1-for-3 on the day. Baudy Rivera and Abdamil Robles were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico while hitting back-to-back. Sebastian Quiles paced Guaynabo, Puerto Rico with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying nine walks for the game.

Number seven hitter, AYDAN SCHMIDT, showed the depth of Covina, CA's lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Covina, CA turned one double play in the game.

Game 17: Youngstown, OH (3) vs Palmview, TX (2)
Both teams were strong on the bump on Monday, but Youngstown, Ohio was just a little bit stronger at the plate in their 3-2 victory over Palmview, Texas. JAYDEN GUTIERREZ started the game for Palmview, Texas and recorded 10 outs.

Palmview, Texas was right in it until Youngstown, Ohio singled in the fifth inning.

Palmview, Texas opened the scoring in the first after JAVIER GARZA LOPEZ singled, scoring one run.

Palmview, Texas added one run in the second after RAMIRO ALEJANDRO LEON walked.

JACK WHITE grounded into a fielder's choice, which helped Youngstown, Ohio tie the game at two in the bottom of the fourth.

BLAKE BURCHILL and ISAAC MCCANDLESS each collected two hits for Youngstown, Ohio. ISAAC MCCANDLESS, LUCA MEZZANOTTE, and JACK WHITE each drove in one run for Youngstown, Ohio.
