Day 5 Game 18: Guaynabo, Puerto Rico (5) vs Covina, CA (0)
Jedrek Cortijo didn't allow a single run as defeated Covina, CA 5-0 on Tuesday. Jedrek Cortijo allowed just five hits.

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico opened the scoring in the first after Sebastian Quiles hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

FERNANDO CASAS took the loss for Covina, CA. The starter went six innings, giving up five runs (three earned) on seven hits, striking out two and walking two.

Natanael Andino and Sebastian Quiles were a one-two punch in the lineup, as each drove in one run for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. Dariel Carrion led Guaynabo, Puerto Rico with three hits in three at bats. Miguel Colon collected two hits for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico in three at bats. Guaynabo, Puerto Rico were sure-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. GAEL ZAMBRANO collected three hits in four at bats, as Palmview, Texas defeated Youngstown, Ohio 11-4 on Tuesday. GAEL ZAMBRANO singled in the first inning, singled in the third inning, and singled in the fourth inning..

Palmview, Texas scored six runs in the third inning on the way to victory.  An error scored two runs, ALEX BOCANEGRA was struck by a pitch, driving in a run, and JOAQUIN BARRIENTOS singled, scoring three runs.

A single by JAVIER GARZA LOPEZ put Palmview, Texas on the board in the top of the first.

BLAKE BURCHILL singled down the left field line, which helped Youngstown, Ohio tie the game at one in the bottom of the first.

OSI LOPEZ stepped on the hill first for Palmview, Texas. The hurler surrendered eight hits and three runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking four. JACK WHITE began the game for Youngstown, Ohio. The starting pitcher gave up six hits and seven runs (six earned) over two and two-thirds innings, striking out one and walking two. SAMUEL DE LEON appeared in relief for Palmview, Texas.

Guaynabo, Puerto Rico got on the board in the top of the second inning after Abdamil Robles hit into a fielder's choice, and Baudy Rivera singled to center field, each scoring one run.

Palmview, Texas captured the lead, 3-2, in the bottom of the third after JAYDEN GUTIERREZ singled to left field, RAMIRO ALEJANDRO LEON singled down the right field line, and JAVIER GARZA LOPEZ walked, each scoring one run.

MATEO HERRERA led things off on the bump for Palmview, Texas. The starter gave up five hits and two runs (zero earned) over seven innings, striking out five and walking two. Sebastian Quiles led things off on the hill for Guaynabo, Puerto Rico. The starter surrendered four hits and five runs (three earned) over five innings, striking out four and walking two.

RAMIRO ALEJANDRO LEON, ALEX BOCANEGRA, JAYDEN GUTIERREZ, and GAEL ZAMBRANO each collected one hit for Palmview, Texas. RAMIRO ALEJANDRO LEON and JAVIER GARZA LOPEZ each drove in one run for Palmview, Texas. Palmview, Texas turned three double plays in the game.
