2023 Palomino World Series Championship Game
Championship Game: Youngstown, OH 10, Monterrey, MX 4
Youngstown easily dispatched Monterrey on Tuesday at Uni-Trade Stadium, 10-4.
Youngstown got on the board in the top of the first inning after Monterrey committed an error, and Henne singled, each scoring a run.
Monterrey captured the lead, 4-2, in the bottom of the first after Zenni doubled, and Quintnilla singled, each scoring two runs.
Youngstown took the lead in the top of the fourth inning after Lafferty scored after tagging up, and Lutte stole home, each scoring a run.
Youngstown scored five runs on six hits in the top of the seventh inning. Henne singled, scoring one run, Lazzari singled, scoring one run, Capizzi singled, scoring one run, Lafferty doubled, scoring one run, and Havrilla singled, scoring one run.
Apaliski stepped on the mound first for Youngstown. They allowed five hits and four runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking eight. Lozano led things off on the hill for Monterrey. The starting pitcher surrendered one hit and two runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out one and walking two.
Youngstown piled up 12 hits in the game. Havrilla and Henne each collected three hits for Youngstown. Havrilla went 3-for-5 at the plate as the infielder led the team with two runs batted in. Cordeiro and Lafferty each amassed multiple hits for Youngstown. Slanker paced Youngstown with three walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, tallying seven walks for the game. Lafferty and Lutte each stole multiple bases for Youngstown. Youngstown were steady-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error.
Monterrey's Quintnilla made the most of their chances at the plate. The number eight hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Monterrey had a strong eye at the plate, piling up eight walks for the game. Santos, Gonzalez, and Baez led the team with two walks each.

Monterrey were victorious against Puerto Rico 4-1 on Monday during the if necessary game 19.
Puerto Rico were the first to get on the board in the fourth when Nieves singled, scoring one run.
Monterrey jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the sixth inning after Santos singled, S. Lopez scored after tagging up, Mendoza was struck by a pitch, and J. Lopez singled, each scoring a run.
Garza stepped on the bump first for Monterrey. The starting pitcher surrendered six hits and one run over seven innings, striking out five and walking one. D. Gonzales stepped on the hill first for Puerto Rico. They surrendered eight hits and four runs over six innings, striking out one and walking three.
Santos went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Monterrey in hits. Navarro collected two hits for Monterrey in three at bats. Monterrey were steady-handed in the field and didn't commit a single error. Quintnilla had the most chances in the field with 10.
Puerto Rico's Viera made the most of their chances at the plate. The number seven hitter led the team with two hits in three at bats. Nieves went 1-for-3 at the plate as they led the team with one run batted in. Puerto Rico also turned two double plays in the game.
